Sau đó múc xôi vào 1/3 tô, dàn mỏng, nén chặt, rồi rải táo tàu, câu kỷ tử, hạt sen và nho khô xung quanh tô. Đổ tiếp 1 lớp xôi dày, nén chặt vào. Đem tô xôi này hấp cách thủy thêm 10 phút là hoàn thành.
Khi ăn, lật đổ khuôn xôi ra đĩa, lật ngược lại là xong.
